Unpreparedness Equals Hecticness: Comparing Countries Presentation
This is actually not the first post I would want to publish on my blog. As my first post, I would want something wonderful to start off the blog. However, sometimes we are faced with something unpredictably chaotic. And after some self-reflection, it was all about lack of preparation for the whole-day learning activities.
How the Story Went
It was first smooth in the morning, because we had only testimony and murajaah without tadarus (as a whole we call it testimony and morning meeting). We did it incompletely (usually we have a one-page tadarus (reciting the holy Qur'an)) to save our time, because sometimes when we started a little late, then the whole schedule will be affected. Therefore, after morning meeting, we went to the next classes, i.e. Art and IT. Alhamdulillah it went smoothly, except that Sarah had a trouble with typing the space button.
The chaos started at the break time. Whilst having their break, students were supposed to research obligations of three family members. There was supposed to be a table that students needed to fill in. However, my peer teacher, who had to make it, didn't do it yet. Then it went with no project. Therefore, there was no whilst-activity at the break time.
The second zoom session started 45 minutes later. Students were supposed to share the result of their research of GP comparing countries. This was when the second chaos began. When I was trying to connect to Google Classroom, on which students submitted their work, the internet connection at school was very unstable. Therefore, we needed to wait very patiently until I could open the document and then share it on zoom. And every time I tried to open every document, it took so long until we were running out of time. Then there was only 2 students who were able to present their research.
Lesson: I need to download all the presented files long before the presentation time.
